Q: How do I trade in my car?

Q: What is the difference between Pre-Owned and Certified Pre-Owned (CPO)?
A: A Certified Pre-Owned vehicle has been previously owned, usually with no more than 60,000 to 80,000 miles and is no more than 5 to 7 years old. CPO vehicles are backed by the original manufacturer and is subjected to a rigorous, multi-point inspection. Certified Pre-Owned cars come with an extended warranty from the original date of service that is good at any dealer in the country. If there are any damaged or worn parts that are found during the multi-point inspection of a CPO car, those parts are replaced before being offered for sale. To get this same service when buying a used car, the buyer must pay for an inspection and any subsequent repairs. A CPO vehicle includes an extended warranty, a limited bumper-to-bumper warranty, and a number of services such as 24-hour roadside assistance. A used car usually only offers the remainder of the factory warranty if it is still in effect.
Q: What is the difference between Leasing and Financing?
A: The biggest difference between leasing and financing a car have to do with exactly what you pay for as well as what responsibilities or obligations you may have. Listed below are some of the major differences between the two.
Ownership
- Lease:Â You don't own the car; you are paying to use it for a fixed period of time. Once the term ends, you can either return or buy the vehicle.
- Finance:Â You own the vehicle and can use it anyway you like for as long as you want. You can add any customization or modifications that you like.
Down Payments
- Lease:Â Usually includes the first month's payment, a refundable security deposit, down payment, taxes, registration fees, and any other applicable fees.
- Finance:Â Usually includes the cash price or a down payment, taxes, registration fees, and any other applicable fees.
Monthly Payments
- Lease:Â Most of the time, lease payments will be lower than financing payments because you are only paying for the depreciation of the vehicle during the time you are leasing it plus interest, rent charges, taxes, and fees.
- Finance:Â Loan payments are usually higher than leasing because you are paying for the entire value of the car.
Early Termination
- Lease:Â If you would like to end your lease early, you will have to pay early termination fees. These fees usually can cost as much as sticking with the rest of lease's term.
- Finance:Â You can sell or trade in a vehicle whenever you want. The money you make selling your car can be used towards paying off the loan.
Distance Restrictions
- Lease:Â Most leases have an annual limit on how many miles you can drive the car. Once that limit is hit, you will incur an extra charge per mile.
- Finance:Â You can drive your car as much as you want. The only disadvantage is how the mileage will affect resale value.
Whether or not you want to lease or finance depends greatly on your long-term intentions. If you are the type of person who likes to have a new car every few years, leasing makes much more sense financially. However, if you intend to buy a car and keep it for the life of the car, financing would be a better option for you.Â

Q: How often should I service my Mazda?

Q: How do I know when to change my oil?
A: Depending on your model, there may be several methods for reminding you of when an oil change is needed on your vehicle. Most models do have an electronic reminder that can be set and reset through your vehicles instrument panel menu. The standard recommendation from Mazda is every 5,000 miles. Q: How do I pair my phone to my Mazda with Mazda Connect Bluetooth?
A: Pairing a device with Mazda Connect can be done in a few simple steps
1. Go to settings on your smart phone and make sure the phone's Bluetooth is switched to 'on'
2. Select 'Settings' on the Mazda Connect infotainment system screen
3. On you car's screen, select 'Devices'
4. Select 'Bluetooth' and then 'Add New Device' on your Mazda Screen
5. On your phone's list of available connections, select 'Mazda'Â
6. Confirm that the pairing code displayed on the Mazda Connect screen is the same as the code displayed on your phone screen.
Your phone should now be connected to your Mazda. This will allow you to broadcast sound from your phone as well as take advantage of hands-free calling.Â
Q: How do I pair my garage door opener to my Mazda?
A: If you have the HomeLink system in your Mazda, you should find a few buttons on your rear-view mirror. These buttons can be programmed to operate garage doors, gates, other devices in a few simple steps. It is recommended before beginning to place new batteries into your hand-help garage door opener and disconnect power to your garage door so that there is no damage done to the motor. You will then need to park your vehicle outside of your garage.
1. Hold your hand-help garage door opener 1-3 inches away from the HomeLink buttons on your rear-view mirror. You should be able to easily view the indicator light in the middle-bottom of the rear-view mirror.
2. Press and hold down both your hand-held garage door opener button and the HomeLink button you would like to program to it simultaneously. The indicator light on the rearview mirror should change from a slow flash to a rapid blink, at which point you can release the two buttons.
3. You can now test and see if your garage door is connected. If you have disconnected power to your garage door, you will now need to reconnect it. Simply hold down the HomeLink button for about 5 seconds and release. If this does not work after a couple attempts and you notice the indicator light is blinking instead of staring constantly illuminated, it means you may have a rolling code-equipped opener. If it opens properly, you are good to go.
4. If you might have a rolling code-equipped device, you will need to go get a look at the motor-head unit of your garage door to find either the 'learn' or 'smart' button. Once found, press and release
5. You can then head back to your Mazda and hold down the programmed HomeLink button for 2 seconds. Do this step a second time. If necessary, you may also have to do it a third time before the process completes.Â
